Fall 2017 Scholarship Recipient

The Loving Lily Forever Committee would like to announce our third Scholarship Recipient

Fatima attends the University of Illinois at Chicago and made the Deans List 2011-2014 with a GPA of 3.5.  She is also part of the JSA Debate team and a member of the string orchestra for 9 years. Her hobbies include forms of therapy such as painting, reading, and playing the piano.

She also part of an Organization called "Project Esteem," which includes Bi-Weekly volunteering at two children’s shelters to educate under-privileged and neglected kids about the world of science.

Fatima displayed all the characteristics of a hard working, passionate, and giving person that this scholarship was modeled after in Maria L. Tejada. The Loving Lily Forever Committee is honored and humbled to once again be able to provide such a great opportunity to someone as deserving as Fatima.

We wish her luck!

Loving Lily Forever

Thank You letter from Fatima to The Loving Lily Forever Committee and Supporting Donators:

Dear the Loving Lily Forever Family,

I am truly blessed and humbled to be chosen as the recipient for the Fall 2017 Maria Tejada Scholarship. Maria’s legacy is not one that can be mirrored, but one that can be honored. Although I was not able to meet her, I am captivated by the impact that she had on Chicago; devoting her life and career to serving others. I plan to honor Maria’s legacy by focusing on the healing and recovery of youth in Chicago communities. As an intern at the Cook County Juvenile Probation Department, I learned the importance of rehabilitation and treatment when working with neglected children.

Thank you to the Loving Lily Forever Family & Committee for seeing a potential in me. As this is the last semester of my undergraduate studies, my educational pursuits would not be possible without this opportunity. Your organization's generosity and support has allowed me to be one step closer to my goal of providing the guidance, structure and services to the delinquent population. I cannot thank you guys enough for awarding me this scholarship.
